About Us OWR History
David Vosburgh General Manager & Production Director David Vosburgh has taught and/or directed at New York University, The New York Academy of Theatrical Arts, American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Lehman College, Austin Peay State College, Fordham University and is an Adjunct Faculty member at YSU where he has directed the operas for the past five years. He has directed over 100 operas, musicals, plays and revues including two national tours for Columbia Artists' Theatricals. He has served as scenic designer for four seasons of professional summer stock and designed many productions for L. Sapir Productions and the New York Lyric Opera for which he was Production Coordinator and Associate Artistic Director. As a performer he has over 30 opera roles to his credit including the Houston Grand Opera premiere of Willie Stark which was broadcast on PBS-Great Performances. He appeared in the original Broadway productions of Maggie Flynn, 1776, Smith., A Little Night Music, Evita and A Doll's Life, as well as the revivals of Take Me Along, Cabaret, with Joel Grey, Sweeney Todd, and the national tours of Cabaret, Guys and Dolls and Parade. Among his regional credits are the recent productions of Big River and Brigadoon, at Porthouse Theatre and Jekyll and Hyde - the Musical, Carousel and The Sound of Music all at the Carousel Dinner Theatre. He was Artistic Director of the Youngstown Playhouse from 1995-2000, is co-founder of The Actor's Project of Youngstown, a regular lecturer for Playhouse Square Foundation in Cleveland, is president of the Arts Council of Youngstown and Mahoning County, and holds a Master of Fine Arts from Kent State University. |
