OWR EMERGING ARTISTS

EMERGING ARTISTS OF THE 2023-2024 SEASON:

  • Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass-Baritone voice types
  • Main Stage Roles: Mercédès, Le Remendado, Le Dancaïre, Frasquita
  • Emerging Artist Roles: Carmen, Don José, Escamillo, Micaela, Frasquita

EMERGING ARTISTS WILL BE FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMMING FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES:

  • A reduced “mini main stage” presentation based on our upcoming production of Carmen on November 17, 2023
  • A touring children’s opera in Spring 2024
  • Possible other community outreach performances throughout the season

AUDITION REPERTOIRE FOR OWR EMERGING ARTISTS:

  • On aria/art song in English
  • One aria in French (if possible). Emerging Artist applicants who wish to be considered for the available roles and/or covers in Carmen must include an aria in French
  • At least one additional piece from your repertoire

  • April 1, 2023 Deadline for Application and Recorded Submissions (see repertoire below)

LIVE AUDITIONS:

  • April 19, 2023 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm

AUDITION REPERTOIRE:

  • One aria in French
  • One aria in Italian
  • One or more additional arias of your choosing
  • Available Roles:
    • Mercédès
    • Le Remendado
    • Le Dancaïre
    • Frasquita
    • All other roles are cast currently
