GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on November 27, 2023. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Giving Tuesday is one of the biggest giving days of the entire year. Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 31, The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will match every donation made to the Opera Western Reserve Endowment Fund, up to $2,000. At the end of the campaign, any remaining funds in the $50,000 pool will be divided between every nonprofit that received a donation – whether it was 1 donation or 100.
Additionally, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will add $100 for each individual donor’s donation between Nov. 27 and Dec. 3. These $100 boosts for each donor do not count toward the fund’s match total, but will be in addition to any matching dollars received.
