Opera Western Reserve

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place this year on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 13 years, this idea has grown into a global movement, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Over the years, Giving Tuesday has become one of the biggest giving days of the entire year. This year, when gifts are given during one of the two new power hours on Tuesday, December 2nd, the gift will be doubled! Then, from December 3rd through the 8th, all gifts given will be matched. This means, for every $1 donated on a match day, the Opera Western Reserve will receive an additional $1 from the Community Foundation.

Through the generous support of our donors, Opera Western Reserve is able to continue to present captivating operas in the beautiful Edward W. Powers Auditorium at DeYor Performing Arts Center, as well as to provide opportunities to emerging artists, and enhance educational development of the youth in the tri-county region. The support of our donors is what makes it all possible. Please consider continuing the support of Opera Western Reserve!

GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on November 27, 2023. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Giving Tuesday is one of the biggest giving days of the entire year. Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 31, The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will match every donation made to the Opera Western Reserve Endowment Fund, up to $2,000. At the end of the campaign, any remaining funds in the $50,000 pool will be divided between every nonprofit that received a donation – whether it was 1 donation or 100.

Additionally, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will add $100 for each individual donor’s donation between Nov. 27 and Dec. 3. These $100 boosts for each donor do not count toward the fund’s match total, but will be in addition to any matching dollars received.

Opera Western Reserve continues to present captivating operas in Edward W. Powers Auditorium at DeYor Performing Arts Center, afford opportunities to emerging singers, and enhance educational development of youth in the tri-county region. The support of our donors is what makes this possible. Please consider continued support of Opera Western Reserve!
